Dont get me wrong I love the country and the people but why is this?
It seems like in this day and age everywhere in the UK would be air conditioned.
Because we very rarely get the weather to need air conditioning – why spend a lot of money on something that only gets used 7 days a year – opening a window is quite sufficient the rest of the time.

mainly because we need air conditioning only rarely so it’s not worth it … and anyway I find air conditioning unhealthy, it affects my sinuses badly … and aren’t we all supposed to be trying to use less energy these days, surely opening windows etc is far more “green”
Just open the windows…it’s free to do that, not so with air conditioning which costs a fortune to run and is a drain on dwindling resources.
